Monique McGuire
Massage Therapist, Entrepreneur

Early Life
She is now a wonderful mother of her teen son, Gregory, who she instilled morals, manners, respect and positive attitude of self and others. Monique was very determined to provide her son with the best education possible as a single parent so she pursued enrollment in the best private and charter schools. Gregory will be graduating from Herron High School in 2016. Monique and Gregory have a special bond and they both share a keen, somewhat corny but lighthearted, sense of humor.
Her daily routine involves practicing yoga and a healthy eating regimen which she also encourages others to do. Monique loves helping others, especially the elderly and homeless. She once initiated the help of her mom and aunt to give out water and fruit to the homeless in downtown Indianapolis. Monique is a humanitarian, her desire to help others is a constant motivation for her.
In 2010, her adolescent son, Gregory, acquired a small case of eczema; being a single parent, to avoid medical bills, she decided to start making her own skin care products incorporating the use of natural herbs and essential oils. Gregory no longer has eczema and Monique continues to make, and now sells, her own skin care products, appropriately called ‘Skin Candy’. Her product line includes, sugar scrub, shea butter moisturizing lotion, herbal/oatmeal soaps and lip balm.

The Massage Evolution
After high school, Monique worked in customer service for several years before she decided to follow her passion - the health and wellbeing of others. In 1997 she enrolled at PCI (Professional Careers Institute) for medical and dental administration, graduating in October of 1998; after which she worked in several doctors’ offices but she did not find her niche working behind a desk so in 2006, she enrolled and completed courses in Massage Therapy at Medtech College. Shortly after graduating from Medtech in 2007 she acquired her first career title as a massage therapist in a chiropractic office.
Massage Therapist/Entrepreneur
Monique has honed and mastered her skills and is now, on her own accord, doing private practice. She also collaborates with other vendors at private parties and community, social and seasonal events where she is able to perform her massage techniques and promote sales of her skin care products.
In June 2015, with a lot of determination and diligence, Monique proudly acquired her business name - Massages by Monique, LLC. She will soon see her vision come to fruition as she completes her final step of acquiring a permanent business home place that will allow her to fully promote herself as a massage therapist/entrepreneur. Until then, she plans to contract with corporations that will consider hiring the works and technique of a skillful, Certified Massage Therapist.
